Well, eight years plus time served sounds much better than 40 years. Especially, after your own government fails to protect you as a citizen and breaches your legal rights under section 7 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, you know, the one that says:
7. Everyone has the right to life, liberty and security of the person and the right not to be deprived thereof except in accordance with the principles of fundamental justice.
